The 1st Annual Baseball Academy Infielders and Hitters Showcase will be held Friday, January 22nd, 2010. The showcase will be held at the Academy from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
This event will not only feature top High School Infielders and Hitters but will also include junior college Infielders and Hitters in the area. Many players will have signed with a college prior to this event; we still encourage you to attend this showcase for the professional exposure. It is an excellent opportunity for each pitcher and catcher to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts and division 1 college recruiters.
All Infielders and Hitters must sign-up online. We will not take any walk-in registrations. The Academy will be sending out emails to players recommending that they participate in this showcase. Once you have received this email you will need to go to www.mountainwestbaseball.com and register for this event. You will then need to fill out a player profile located on the same website. We will use the information you supply to make a showcase program that the scouts and coaches will use to evaluate each player. This is extremely important.
All players will need to contact the Academy to take care of the registration process. We will not accept any walk-in registrations on mail in registrations. Everything must be done through the website.
The showcase format is as follows:
Infielders, after a proper warm up will take ground ball and turn double plays for 5 minutes while scouts and coaches look on for evaluations. We will then set the infield up for BP and hit live out into the arena. We will also have Buster Swabb from Athletic Placement Services talking with players and parents on the recruiting process.
